158 million infected and 3.4 million dead worldwide

According to a Reuters report based on official data, more than 158 million people worldwide have been confirmed to be infected with coronavirus. More than 3.4 million people have died with or from the virus since it was first detected in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

The U.S. has the highest number of infections, with more than 32.8 million. The U.S. also ranks first in deaths with more than 582,085, followed by Brazil with about 422,340 deaths. The country ranks third in infection numbers with more than 15 million. India has the second highest number of infections worldwide with around 22.7 million.
